THE TAROT CARD READER AND THE READING

THE RESPONSIBLE TAROT CARD READER

1. It is vital that you retain your own sense of professional and spiritual integrity.

2. You need to adopt a strong ethical code of practice.

3. You could consciously seek some form of higher spiritual guidance - either through prayer or through positive affirmations so that you do not misguide the client through your interpretation of the spread.

4. speak with your client in a manner that he or she can relate to.

5. Communicate honestly what the cards seem to be saying even when there is a negative feel to the energy of the spread without making the seeker feel there is no solution.

6. Explain to the client that Tarot cards indicate likely outcomes rather than fixed events and there is a possibility that events and course of action can be modified.  There are always other options available.

7. If the client is dependent on the direction of your reading, a capacity for clear and effective communication coupled with a genuine sense of optimism will be important.

FEAR AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Some people consult Tarot Card Readers because they want to avoid taking responsibility for their own decisions. Even though the answers to their personal problems will eventually emerge through their own shuffling of the cards the through the interpretation of the reading, the client still believes that the Tarot card reader alone has the all the answers.  Such people will expect specific answers to their questions and will expect the future outlined in the cards to manifest itself in very concrete terms. They will blame the Tarot Reader if things do not turn out exactly as expected! This is due to their own fear and self doubt and they also are side-stepping the important issue of taking responsibility for their own actions.  This allows them to take the role of the victim of fate. The Tarot Reader has to explain to the client that we all have to assume responsibility for our own thoughts and actions.
This is the Universal Law of Karma - the law of cause and effect and it applies to everything - even to Tarot.
