BONDING WITH YOUR TAROT CARDS

DRAWING AND CHOOSING CARDS

The best way to choose cards for a layout, or just one card for the day is to fan them out in your hand and run your finger along the backs of the cards until one seems to speak to  you. If you cannot do that then lay the pack in front of you face down, then spread them out in an overlapping row of cards until you can see most of the edges.  Choosing the card is the moment when you and the tarot merge. Focus on the question or issue or repeat the question to yourself while you draw each card. In some ways the Tarot chooses you as much as you choose the Tarot. Always remember that if you hesitated to take a card and did not choose it, it may imply that it was not meant to be taken by you on this particular reading.  Once you have chosen the card for a layout or spread, place it face up in its correct position within the spread and continue to choose subsequent cards in the same way.

RELEASE UNDESIRABLE THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS

When drawing cards and placing them in a particular spread, it it very important to let go of your unconscious personal thoughts or undesirable feelings (also called projections). We all consciously and unconsciously 'project' our desires, wishes and fears into the Tarot and emotional involvement can with the question can give wrong answers. So be true to yourself and very honest before you start asking questions.

We all want to be empowered and feel that the future looks rosy and it is therefore quite hard to look at certain cards and feel that something bad is going to happen.  The Tarot Cards are neither good nor bad -  rather they describe influences and of course, yourself. Use the information and try to avoid separating positive from negative when you see the images.
